Stories to write: The Scientist

For this story, I'm particularly looking for examples of the following:

• Division into paragraphs
• A really clever opening sentence
• Accurately punctuated speech
• Some really strong conjunctions to link it all together

I'd like you to write me a story about the scientist below who has just made a great discovery.  What is it?  Will it be good or evil?  Write from whichever perspective you like.  I'd like a minimum of 350 words.  If you want to change things around (e.g., have a female scientist) that's fine.
