Year 1: 

In term 4, they learnt about the Great Fire of London and the functions of wheels and axles. The children brought in cardboard boxes from home to create their fire engine designs.  They explored different ways of making wheels and axles and created designs to individually create our own functional fire engines.

Year 4: 

In term 2, they learnt about 'Our Natural Earth'. The children used different stitches to join another layer of fabric to form a volcano. Then, they created the effect of the lava exploding out of the volcano and trickling down. They also applied sequins to the fabric to create lava and ash clouds.
